Visual proof that the watermelon-monster is more then just legend

Watermelon madness

Making faces

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Wow, time has flown, and almost in a blink of an eye, Ryan has been on this earth for a year. What started as a blog obsession, has almost faded due to having moved and not working full time on the computer anymore. But today is a special day, and we hope to share that with you by posting some pictures and video clips of the past months. Ryan has grown and changed so much since he first drew breath, and he has changed our lives in so many wonderful ways. His cute ways and endearing smile stops strangers in the streets, reduces otherwise proud men into face-making attention-getting clowns, and generally blesses and makes the lives of those that meet him that much better. Moments of pure joy have mingled with his rascal antics, making life a continual adventure.

Thank you for sharing this day with us, we love you!

Absence without leaving

Yes, we've been negligent bloggers, maybe the stress and challenges of moving and setting up house, maybe the lack of time to take, sort and post pictures, or maybe the tiredness that sets in when your little boy decides that the night is no longer the ideal time for sleeping are to blame.

But, now spurred on by the promise of a nice Saturday afternoon coffee, I have decided to update all of you on our little man's life. Hopefully you still visit this blog, only this time you won't have to leave disappointed!

Without further ado....the life and times of Ryan.

The Haircut that had to be...

He was getting too cute with just a swathe of hair on top of his head, everyone was getting a tad envious. This baby was too stylish for his own good! That coupled with the recent Mohawk incident (see previous post) was what forced our hand to trimming this baby's hair. The consolation is that it'll grow back again, and hopefully all over his head this time!

Life's a peach when you're on the beach

It took a professional hair team a lot of hard work to curl that just right. :-D

Father and Son

Baby Einstein?

So we left Ryan by himself in the room, and after not hearing any noise for a while, we sneaked a peek into the room and found him.....

Ryan: "once upon a time there was a smart baby who pretended he couldn't read..."

"I hope my parents don't catch me reading"

When he finally saw us, we confronted him with this photographic evidence.... He just started chewing on the book.

Dad: "Hey Ryan, let me see that book you're reading"

Ryan: "Reading? what you talking about, I was just checking this book out for its nutritional value, you know...midnight snack, etc...goo goo gack. (the rest of what he said was unintelligible)"

Ryan: Hunter, Giraffe: Hunted

One fine day in the Serengeti, The mighty lion Ryan stalks his unsuspecting Giraffe cuddly toy...

Ever closer, with his less-then-good intentions disguised by an innocent Gerber-baby look, Ryan closes in...

Yet the clever Giraffe manages to evade Ryan's advances....

And Ryan has to settle for a less then ideal snack.....

Christmas Pudding

The 100 Acre bed

Once upon a time in the hundred acre wood, there was an aspiring baby who thought that he could be the new Tigger. He turned Mama and Papa's bed into "the 100 acre bed" and surrounded himself with all the animals of the forest. There was only one flaw in his plan to be Tigger....he couldn't bounce. (But we won't tell him, cause he looks too darn cute.)

"That's right, keep taking the pictures. I'm expecting a call from Disney any day now, offering me a lifelong contract!"

"Help me, someone, anyone! I've seemed to have lost my bounce!"

"The wonderful thing about Ryans, is that Ryans are wonderful things."
